During the COVID-19 crisis, Orion Military Scholarship Fund has partnered with two other national military-connected organizations, the Military Child Education Coalition and Blue Star Families, to bring visibility to how the global pandemic has affected military communities.

The Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) is a professional coalition with a diverse community consisting of public school districts, private schools, colleges and universities, small businesses and corporations, organizations, military commands and installations, military families, and caring individuals, dedicated to ensuring inclusive, quality educational opportunities for all military-connected children affected by mobility, transition, deployments and family separation. Orion is working with MCEC to keep the military community informed of news, educational issues and school choice legislation during the COVID-19 crisis.

Blue Star Families (BSF) is a 501c3 nonprofit charity organization founded by military spouses in 2009 to to empower military families to thrive by connecting them with their civilian neighbors – both people and organizations – to create strong communities of support. Today, Blue Star Families has 11 chapters nationwide and conducts programs aimed at benefitting military communities. Orion has partnered with BSF to support its COVID-19 Military Support Initiative, including the BSF Pain Points Poll and twice-weekly Virtual Town Hall Meetings.
